Minneapolis Protesters Shut Down I35W!


Today a crowd protesting a grand jury's decision to not indict a white New York City police officer for choking a black man to death took over northbound 35W in Minneapolis. KMSP-TV The protesters stopped to lay down several times, chanting "I can't breathe," which is what Eric Garner, the murdered black man, said before being choked to death by Daniel Pantaleo, the NYPD officer. The protest brought traffic to on 35W to a standstill, and then entered downtown on its way to Minneapolis City Hall.
 Protesters reached Minneapolis City Hall shortly before 2:50 p.m. Before reaching downtown, protesters marched down northbound Interstate 35W, causing authorities to shut down the road for a while.
